ABOUT FABIAN JR.

My name is Fabian Perez-Crespo Jr., and I’m an eleventh-grade student at AIE Charter School. I'm the Senior Patrol Leader for Scouting America Troop 334, I am a Life Scout, and I’m the Vice Chief of the Totikea Fuswa Chapter of the O-Shot-Caw Lodge 265 of the Order of the Arrow.
At school, I’m involved in Interact, the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and the Gaming Club. I was also selected to participate in RYLA Cohort 2025, a Rotary youth leadership program that helped strengthen my confidence and leadership skills. Outside of school and Scouts, I hold a red belt in Taekwondo and spent several summers volunteering at Ray’s Taekwondo before it closed. I’m also a proud member of the Miami Springs Historical Society through my family membership.
Volunteering has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, starting back in my Cub Scouting days. I learned the importance of giving back from my parents, who are both very active in our community. Because of that example, I’ve grown up understanding that service isn’t just something you do, it’s something you commit to. I regularly volunteer with my Scout troop, the Miami Springs Woman’s Club, the Lions Club, and, when needed, the Oleeta West-Dade 145 Masonic Center.
After high school, I plan to attend college and major in Political Science. I hope to continue serving my community and, like many Scout leaders before me, stay involved in Scouting and youth leadership for years to come.
When I began thinking about my Eagle Scout service project, I met with several community leaders, including former Miami Springs Mayor Maria Mitchell. At first, I was planning a sustainability-focused project in response to Resolution 2022-3994. But as the excitement around Miami Springs’ once-in-a-lifetime Centennial celebration grew, I found myself thinking more about the city’s history and the people who built it.
That’s when the idea for my project truly came together. I wanted to create something meaningful, something that gives back to the community while inviting everyone to be part of this historic moment.
That inspiration became my Eagle Scout service project: The Centennial Time Capsule.
